Longworth preschool is a small, thriving, rural preschool with a friendly atmosphere for children aged 2 years and upwards, until they start their journey at school. We are a registered charity managed by a voluntary committee of parents.
We open Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm, following Oxfordshire County Council term dates. We have availability for 2 year funded, 15 hour funding and 30 hour funded children, with extra fee paying sessions also available.
The preschool is situated in the village of Longworth, between Witney and Abingdon. We work very closely with Longworth Primary School and are proud to be an established Partnership Foundation Stage Unit. This partnership is one of very few that exists in the country and is formal recognition of our shared approach to planning and resources, joint teaching and story times, all focused on making the move from preschool to school a natural, enjoyable and stress-free process for every child.
We take children from the surrounding area including, Appleton, Buckland, Marcham, Hinton Waldrist, Southmoor, Fyfield and Faringdon but welcome children from all locations.
We enable teachable
moments through play...
We have our own specially built premises designed to allow children to safely enjoy learning through play. We are proud to have a very highly qualified team. This allows children the benefits of individual care and attention from familiar, trusted, Early Years Professionals. Each child has their own key person helping them settle in and offering ongoing support to the child and their family.
Our Vision Statement
We believe at Longworth preschool every child is unique and is a competent learner from birth and can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured.
We are committed to developing positive relationships so that children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and key worker.
We aim to provide enabling environments for all children, which play a key role in supporting and extending children's developing and learning.
We believe that children learn in different ways and at different rates, and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected.
